Prime’s story began in a childhood shaped by instability and early responsibility, where he learned how to stay calm inside chaos. His grandparents sent him to the Marine Military Academy in Texas, and the Marine Corps followed.
Prime came up through the Marine infantry, became a Marine Corps Water Survival Instructor, and went on to serve as a Marine Raider with Marine Special Operations Battalion (MSOB), with combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. He received both the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was wounded in an insider attack in Afghanistan, then was medically separated from MARSOC.
His greatest challenge didn’t come on deployment. It came during the transition home, where the loss of mission, brotherhood, identity and physical capability forced him to confront the emotional weight he had carried for years. That journey through injury, transition and recovery became the foundation of his life’s work.
“Prime is a hell of a person and has overcome a tremendous amount of trauma. His story has helped tens of thousands and will help millions of people.”
Prime returned to the water and turned it into a training ground for resilience, self-regulation and human performance. He earned his Executive MBA from USC Marshall, co-founded Deep End Fitness and the Underwater Torpedo League, and developed the F.R.E.E. Operating System™: Focus, Relaxation, Economy of Motion and Efficient Breathing.
His methods have since been used by Olympians, world champions, professional athletes across the NFL, NBA, MLB, UFC and Bellator, military personnel, first responders and executives.
Over years of coaching high performers, Prime saw a pattern: the people and teams who perform best aren’t the ones who avoid pressure. They build the adaptive capacity to regulate, focus, reframe and adjust when conditions change.
Today, through the Performance Under Pressure Institute, he translates lessons from Special Operations, elite athletics, leadership, breathwork and lived adversity into practical frameworks for individuals, teams and organizations. He is also a husband and a father.
Helping people heal what holds them back while building the capacity to move forward with clarity, resilience and purpose.
